 Welcome to the Town of Bedford. When moving to a new community you have many questions, the Town of Bedford website will help with obtaining some of the information you seek.  The estimated current population of Bedford is 22,000 residents.  We have 1 Voting District. We vote at the Bedford High School located at 47 Nashua Road.

Proof of Residency


You can establish residency by Registering to Vote with the Town Clerk.  NH Law requires a new resident within 60 days of moving to New Hampshire to Change their out of state Driver's License to a New Hampshire Driver's license.  You must also register your car in New Hampshire at that time.  
If you are already a New Hampshire resident and have moved to Bedford you may obtain a change of address form from the Tax Collector's office to send to the DMV. 

Please bring: Utility bill, lease agreement, notarized letter from owner of property and a photo ID.   The Town Clerk's office will issue a Letter of Residency letter with proper documentation.

Town Sewer & Town Water


If Town Sewer or Water is available in your area please be sure that your name is listed with the Public Works Department as the new owner.

Trash Removal


The Town of Bedford does not have trash removal.  There are private companies that provide this service.  The Town of Bedford has a Transfer station located on Chubbuck Road.
