Hiring Process
Open positions are filled in the Town of Bedford only with the Town Manager's approval.
When the in-house pool of candidates appears to be extremely well-qualified for a particular position, the job opening is posted in-house prior to it being advertised externally.
In cases where current Town employees are competing with outside candidates for a position, the Town employee will have the advantage in situations where both "merit and fitness" are deemed to be equal between the two.
Employment with the Town of Bedford may be contingent upon successfully passing a physical exam, drug screen or other testing, or a combination of these, depending upon the position.
Complete the application and return to:
Bedford Town Offices
Human Resources Department
24 North Amherst Road
Bedford, NH 03110
OR email to: Jobs@bedfordnh.org
During the COVID-19 social distancing period, we prefer mailed or emailed application materials. Thank you for your understanding.
Attach Resume and Cover Letter if required in the position posting.
It is the intent of the Town of Bedford to insure compliance with the requirements of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and all amendments. It is our policy to recruit, employ, train and promote people without regard to race/color, religion, sex (gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy), age, national origin, disability or genetic information or any other protected class.
