Due to the Memorial Day Holiday, the Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2023 and Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

Transfer Station Extended Hours on Wednesday, May 31, 2023: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Bedford has received a PFAS Remediation Grant from NH Department of Environmental Services for a reimbursement program. This program is for residential property owners located outside of the Saint-Gobain Consent Decree area who install a POET, POU(s), or connect to a public water system. DPW wants to thank you for recycling! The more you recycle, the more Bedford saves!



Starting on June 25, 2022, the Saturday hours of operation at the Transfer Station will be 6:30am to 3:00pm.


All DPW Permitting is now available On-Line!
 For all permits that are issued by DPW (driveway, street opening, deduct water meter, residential and commercial sewer) property owners and contractors can now create an account and apply for these permits through the PermitLink on-line permitting portal. See the link to the left.

Responsibilities


The department is responsible for maintaining a large segment of the town's physical infrastructure as well as delivering important services including:

  • New subdivision construction oversight
  • Sewer service
  • Snow/ice removal and treatment
  • Town events assistance
  • Solid waste disposal
