The Bedford Police Department offers police "detail" services within the Town of Bedford.  Details are what it is called when an officer is hired for a particular duty outside of their typical police department job description.  Detail duties can include:

• traffic details in construction zones
• inside security at large or private events
• police presence at community events, such as road races or block parties
• civil standbys

Rates for police details are as follows:

• 4 hour minimum
• fee is at a rate of $65.00/hour
• there is a $20.00/hour fee if a cruiser is also required for the detail
