The Town of Bedford regrets to announce the unexpected passing of longtime Town Councilor William ‘Bill’ Duschatko. Bill has been continuously serving on the Town Council since he was first elected in 2015 and served as Chairman of the Council in 2018 and 2019. Current Town Council Chairman William Carter stated, “Bill’s untimely passing has saddened the whole Council. His knowledge of the Town was inspiring and shaped what Bedford is today. His guidance and support over the past few years was very helpful to me as a new Councilor. Bill will be missed.”
Bill was truly passionate about serving this community, which was evident with him being on the Town Council, Planning Board, Water & Sewer Advisory Committee, Telecommunications Subcommittee, and the Facilities Subcommittee, as well as the Southern NH Planning Commission, and serving on the Board of Directors for the NH Municipal Association.
Bill also volunteered his time and services in support of the Town cemeteries by serving on the Friends of Bedford Cemeteries and by writing and hosting software to track information for our cemetery plots.
Bill served the community with integrity and will be sorely missed.
