It's April Fools Day! And the one thing the Bedford Police Department isn't kidding about is that April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month! We want everyone to be safe on the roads and so we're taking part in a national initiative to crack down on distracted driving during the month of April. You will see enhanced patrols and attention being paid to distracted drivers all month long (and beyond!). Unfortunately, people are still talking on their phone while driving, as well as texting, and just generally not paying attention. It seems many people have forgotten or are disregarding the HANDS-FREE law that exists in NH. For everyone's safety, we need to bring this issue to the forefront again!
This month we are issuing a call to action to everyone: 1. Take and Sign the Pledge to drive PHONE-FREE from now on, and 2. We are asking our residents, local schools, churches, and businesses to share this pledge to help us spread the word and create a safer community! Follow us on Facebook for more information!
