When are taxes due, and when does the tax year start?
The Town of Bedford bills for property taxes twice a year, and the bills are due July 1 and December 1 of each year. The July bill, known as the spring bill, is for the period from April 1 through September 30, The December bill, known as the fall or final bill, is for the period from October 1 through March 31 of the next year. The actual tax year is from April 1 through March 31 the following year, as opposed to a calendar year from January 1 through December 31.
